Met Office forecast heavy rainfall in the upstream, which may deteriorate the flood situation.
The water levels may rapidly increase in Teesta, Atrai, Dharla, Dudhkumar, Karatoya, Punarbhaba and some other rivers.
Meteorologist Omar Faruk said that the heavy rainfall is likely to occur from today.
According to weather forecast of Met Office, the axis of monsoon trough runs through Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, at a few places over Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy rainfalls at isolated places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
The day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged across the country.
