380 homeless families to get houses in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI: A total of 380 landless and homeless families are going to get homes in Jaldhaka upazila of the district on third phase under the Ashrayan-2 project.

Accordingly, Jaldhaka Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mahbub Hasan hands over the keys of these homes to 280 families through a ceremony.

The programme was attended among others, Jaldhaka Upazila Engineer Mahmudul Hasan, Sub-Assistant Engineer Mohammad Hafizur Rahman, Jaldhaka Upazila Chairman Abdul Wahed Bahadur.

Abul Hossain, a former beggar shared his dream with the correspondent, “I was maintained my livelihood by begging. I was suffering much, when slept on the street due to no any home own. Now I am happy to get a permanent house with a two-decimal land as a gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with the help of the UNO”.

Talking to the Daily Sun, Jaldhaka Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mahbub Hasan said, “As part of the government’s commitment that every homeless will get home during the Mujib Barsho marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman”.

The noble initiative taken by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we have distributed a total of 441 homes among the landless and homeless poor family of the upazila on first and second phase from the Ashrayan-2 project. A total 380 families are being received their permanent address under the project on third phase”, he added.

However, it is a unique example in the world that Sheikh Hasina’s government is going to rehabilitate a huge number of landless and homeless families at a time with housing facilities.
