Infection rate below 1pc

1 dies, 61 get infected in 24 hrs

A Covid-19 patient died in the country on Monday after four deathless days while the daily infection rate has remained below one percent.  

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), one corona patient died and 61 cases were recorded in 24 hours until Monday morning while some 7,787 samples were tested.

The country had witnessed a total of 14 deathless days for 21 days since March 15 while a total of 11 people succumbed to the virus during the days, according to the DGHS.

The number of cases has decreased to below 1,000 on February 25 after about eight weeks as 892 cases were reported on January 5. The number of cases has risen to 19,51,831 with the overall positivity rate of 14.09 percent.

The DGHS said the country’s corona situation has been remaining under control for over a month.

The daily infection rate has been below two percent for last 26 consecutive days while the daily infection rate has remained below four percent for more than a month since February 28.

The daily infection rate was reported 0.78 percent on Monday, 0.79 percent on Sunday, 0.88 percent on Saturday, 1.09 percent on Friday, 0.78 percent on Thursday, 0.89 percent on Wednesday, 0.75 percent on Tuesday, 0.86 percent on Monday, 0.54 percent on Sunday, 0.89 percent on Saturday and 1.03 percent on Friday.
