Cricketers and coaches said on Monday that it would have been better if the Decision Review System was in place for the forthcoming Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League T20.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board earlier confirmed that due to the surge of Covid-19 cases worldwide, none of the experts at Hawk-Eye, a company that offers DRS services, can visit Bangladesh to provide the service.
“I would have been happy if there was DRS because I won’t have the chance to review if I’m given out. But in reality, it won’t be the case. But I’m not ready to talk about only negative things,” Minister Dhaka batsman Tamim Iqbal told reporters during a jersey unveiling programme.
Comilla Victorians head coach Mohammad Salahuddin echoed the same sentiment adding that they don’t have any option but to play the BPL without DRS.
“If there was DRS naturally it would have helped but we can’t do anything because it’s not there. If it’s a problem for others it will be the same for us as well,” said the experienced local coach.
