A mild cold wave is sweeping Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Kurigram, Chuadanga and Moulvibazar districts, said the Bangladesh Metrological Department on Monday.

“The cold wave may abate in some places on Monday. Light to moderate fog may occur at places over the country during midnight to morning,” said a Met office bulletin, reports UNB.

The bone-chilling weather coupled with dense fog has caused disruption in the regular life of the locals who were hardly seen outside their homes since morning.

On Sunday, the lowest temperature of the country was recorded at 8.7 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division while  the maximum temperature was recorded at 30.2 degrees in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar district on the day, according to the bulletin.

Life has turned miserable, particularly for the working class, due to the drop in temperature. They are being forced to stay inside without emergency need.

Besides, weather may remain dry over the country.

Night and day temperature may rise slightly over the country.
