Senior Assistant Editor of the daily Dinkal Syed Akram, also a permanent member of the Jatiya Press Club, passed away on Saturday. He was 74.

Akram breathed his last at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital at 2:30pm, according to a press release.

He left behind son, daughter and a host of relatives, well-wishers and admirers to mourn his death.

Syed Akram has a long journalistic career. He entered the profession in 1972 by joining the daily Janapad. He will be laid to rest at the family graveyard at Dholai Tola in Lohagara of Narail.

In a statement, Jatiya Press Club President Farida Yasmin and Seneral Secretary Iliyas Khan mourned death of the senior journalist. They also expressed deep sympathy to bereaved family members.
