Bashundhara Group stands by cold-hit people

Bashundhara Group, the country’s largest business conglomerate, has brought smiles to the cold-hit people by distributing blankets in different districts in the northern part of the country.

The noble effort to reduce the sufferings of the cold-hit poor continued for the second consecutive day on Sunday.

The country’s largest industrial conglomerate distributed blankets among 1,200 underprivileged people in different areas of the Kurigram district on that day.

Around 400 distressed people received the blankets at a Sannashi Government Primary School field on the bank of Dharla River in Sadar upazilas of the district.

The elderly people, physically challenged and extreme poor from remote villages received the blankets from Bashundhara Group.

Saleha Begum, a 70-year-old woman, said the blanket will be of great help for them as the poor people of the area have been suffering for lack of warm clothes.

“We are very happy to receive the blankets. May Allah bless you,” she said.

Harun-Ar- Rashid, Principal of Kurigram Collectorate School and College, and Shahidul Islam, Headmaster of Sannashi Primary School, among others, were present during the distribution of blankets.

Bashundhara Group also distributed blankets among 400 cold-hit people at Kaluarchar Kuddusia Dakhil Madrasha field.

After receiving the blanket, Banecha Begum, 58, expressed gratitude to Bashundhara Group for its humanitarian initiative.   “We have no home. None except Bashundhara Group has stood beside us. May Allah bless you,” she said.

Later, the Bashundhara Group distributed blankets among 400 underprivileged people in Nawra Nasiria Dakhil Madrasah.

After getting the blanket, 55-years old woman named Bulbuli Begum thanked Bashundhara Group for its timely help amid the biting cold.

“I will pray for you for donating the blankets,” she said.
