Collision on Ctg Level Crossing

Accused bus driver held

CHATTOGRAM: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the accused bus driver in connection with the triangular collision that left three people killed at Jhautala level crossing in the city on Saturday.

 The arrestee was identified as Md Shahidul Alam, 48, son of late Obaidul Huq of Mirsarai upazila in the district. 

 RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Flight Lt Neaz Mohammad Chapal said they arrested Shahidul from Shayerkhali Costal area under the upazila around 12:30am on Thursday.

 Mentionable, three people, including a cop, were killed and 10 others injured in the collision among train, bus and CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Jhautala level crossing in Khulshi area.

The deceased were identified as on-duty Traffic Constable Monirul Islam, 40, hailing from Begumganj upazila in Noakhali district, Syed Bahauddin Ahmed, 30, of Hamzarbag area in the city and Sajjad, 19, a student of Pahartali College in the city.
