Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday said BNP has erected a wall of revenge in the politics of this country.
“BNP leaders have set an example of ungrateful attitude while Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has set an example of humanity and tolerance even after the assassination of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he said in a statement on Thursday.
He also came down hard on senior BNP leaders, as they have lent their support to the indecent comments.
The AL leader also urged the accused BNP leader to make an unconditional apology for making the derogatory remarks.
“If he doesn’t apologise, it will be considered to be the statement of BNP. In that case, Awami League will deal with it politically,” he said.
He said that the premier did not pardon a state minister for his irresponsible statement.
On the contrary, the country’s people have witnessed how BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir ‘shamelessly’ supported the indecent remarks of one of his party leaders, Quader said.
