CHATTOGRAM: The Peninsula Chittagong, a four-star hotel in the port city, organised different events marking the ‘World Children’s Day’ at the hotel on Saturday.

They organised an art competition at Dahlia Hall. Children ageing seven to 10 years participated in the competition in two groups.

Three winners were rewarded with certificates and gift vouchers from Saint’s Café, a concern of the hotel.

Besides, all participants were also awarded with certificate and souvenir for participation.

Representative from British Council and art teacher from a renowned school also attended the events as guests of honour to encourage the children.

Moreover, the hotel also hosted lunch for orphans at the Saint’s Café marking the day.

Addressing the programme, the hotel Chairman Mahboob Ur Rahman said there are many things to learn from the children.

“We should leave a beautiful and sustainable green planet for them to live,” said the chairman.

The hotel General Manager Sumedha Gunawardana also attended the programmes among others.
