The qualification rounds of four events of the 22nd Asian Archery Championship will take place today at the Army Stadium in Dhaka.

The qualification rounds of recurve women and compound men events will start at 09:00am while the qualification rounds of recurve men and compound women will take place at 01:30pm.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Olympic Association Secretary General Syed Shahed Reza inaugurated the seven-day meet as the chief guest on Saturday.

The World Archery Federation Secretary General Tommy Rene Josephine Dielen, the World Archery Asia Secretary General Kyu-Hyung Han Thomas and other officials were also present during the programme.

Later, the participants took part in the official practice session in rainy weather.

A total of 131 archers – 78 men and 53 women – from 17 Asian nations are taking part in 10 events of the meet. 

A 15-member Bangladesh archery team, including recurve archers Ruman Shana, Diya Siddique and compound archer Asim Kumar Das, is taking part in respective events during the championship.
