Licences of the rice millers, who did not supply rice to the government depots or supplied less than the required quantity violating the written agreement, will be cancelled.

In this regard, the Ministry of Food sent a letter to the Food Department asking it to cancel the licences of the rice mills, disconnect their electricity lines and confiscate the security deposit.

However, the ministry directed to release the security deposits of those mills which supplied at least 80 per cent of the required quantity, according to the letter.
