The dengue situation has remained steady in the country for last few days, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The number of dengue patients has remained at around 200 and the death toll has also not risen for last few days.       

According to the DGHS data, 211 dengue patients were hospitalised while two deaths were reported in the last 24 hours until Wednesday morning.

It said 2,532 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in October, 7,841 patients in September, 7,698 in August, 2,286 in July, 272 in June, 43 in May, three in April, 13 in March, nine in February and 32 people were hospitalised with dengue in January this year.

Some 12 dengue patients died across the country in July, 34 patients in August, 23 in September and 13 deaths have been reported in the current month of October, the health directorate data added.
