150 patients hospitalised in 24 hours

The number of dengue infected patients has been increasing throughout the country as the number of dengue cases has neared 1,500 in October this year.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 150 more dengue patients were hospitalised while no death was reported in the country in the last 24 hours until Friday morning.

On the other hand, a total of 1497 dengue patients were hospitalised in the last 8 days of October while 7,841 dengue patients were hospitalised in September, 7,698 in August, 2,286 in July, 272 in June, 43 in May, 3 in April, 13 in March, 9 in February and 32 in January this year.

A total of 12 dengue patients died across the country in July, 34 in August, 23 in September and 4 deaths have so far been reported this month, the health directorate data added.
