A Dhaka court on Friday placed e-commerce platform ‘Qcoom’ Head of Sales (Communication and Public Relations) Humayun Kabir Nirob alias RJ Nirob on one day remand in a fraud case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Mahmuda Akter passed the order after Sub-Inspector Ruhul Amin, also the Investigation-Officer (IO) of the case, produced him before the court seeking on a five-day remand for interrogation.
The customer named Abdullah Khan Shaishab filed the fraud case against six named and five more unnamed officials of Qcoom with the police station on charges of embezzling Tk56 lakh.
The others accused include Qcoom’s Managing Director Md Ripon Mia, his wife Syeda Tasmina Tarin, Chairman Aiyub Ali, and two officials Tanveer Chowdhury Bheer and Sazedur Rahman Sajeeb.
On October 3, the Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested the owner and Managing Director of e-commerce shop Qcoom Ripon Mia from the capital’s Motijheel area after a customer filed a case with Paltan Police Station against him and some other officials.
