Eighty-eight more people died of coronavirus infections and 3,436 more cases were detected during the last 24 hours till Thursday morning.
The coronavirus infection and fatalities have risen slightly in the last 24 hours amid declining of the both infection cases and deaths for last few weeks in the country.
Earlier, 79 corona patients died and 3,062 infection cases were reported on Wednesday morning.
However, this was for the 6th day in a row that the country reported below 100 deaths, 66 days after the country last reported less than hundred dead on June 26.
Some 86 deaths were reported on Tuesday, 94 deaths were reported on Monday, 89 deaths were reported on Sunday and 80 deaths were reported on Saturday.
The DGHS said the highest of 264 deaths was recorded in the country on August 5 and August 10 while the highest of 16,230 cases were reported on July 28.
The number of total infections has risen to 15,07,116 with a daily positivity rate of 10.40 per cent while the overall infection rate has risen to 16.76 percent.
Earlier on June 7, the health officials reported 11.47% positivity rate followed by an alarming rise in infections which reached its peak at 32.55% on July 24.
The daily Covid-19 positivity rate was 11.95 percent on Tuesday, 12.07 percent on Monday, 14.14 percent on Sunday, 13.67 percent on Saturday, 12.78 percent on Friday, 13.77 percent on Thursday, 14.76 percent on Wednesday and 15.12 percent on Tuesday.
Besides, the national death toll has increased to 26,362 with a case fatality rate of 1.75 per cent.
The DGHS said the coronavirus situation is worst in the capital as the highest corona deaths and infections were registered in Dhaka division in the last 24 hours.
