Rainfall may decrease by next three days

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Saturday forecasted that rainfall may decrease across the country by the next three days.

According to BMD weather forecast, the volume of rainfall has decreased across the country though inclement weather has continued in some areas of the southern region.  The sun was also seen in many parts of the country on Saturday. The rainfall may reduce on Monday and Tuesday.

Though, heavy rainfall was not forecasted, the BMD has asked the river ports to continue hoisting the cautionary signal-1.

Meteorologist Arif Hossain said, “Weather today (Saturday) is better than the last few days. The sun has risen in many areas. However, it is still raining somewhere in the southern region. The weather may remain unchanged in the next two days. Thereafter the rainfall may increase again.”

Meanwhile, BMD issued a message of cautionary signals for river ports in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dinajpur, Bogura, Pabna, Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mymensingh and Sylhet areas.

There may be temporary gusts of 45 to 60 km per hour or thundershower in the south and southeastern regions of the country.

According to the weather forecast, most of the monsoon axis is spread from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and northern parts of Bangladesh to Assam. An extension of this axis is found in the northern part of the Bay of Bengal.
