BSCIC introduces one-stop service

Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) has introduced one-stop services for attracting investors from home and abroad on Sunday.

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun inaugurated the service as the chief guest at InterContinental Dhaka.

State Minister for Ministry of Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder attended the function as special guest.

BSCIC Chairman Mushtaq Hasan presided over the function.

Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration KM Ali Azam, Industries Secretary Zakia Sultana, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Md Jashim Uddin were present on the occasion. Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said that BSCIC has entered a new era through inaugurating one-stop services. There is no alternative to one stop service in building a digital Bangladesh.

Entrepreneurs Industrial Registration Services can be received through one stop services from Sunday. BSCIC has started its activities to bring 17 services of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministry under one stop service, the minister added.

BSCIC is working with Department of Local Government to provide trade licences to industrial establishments under industrial cities of BSCIC like Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), he added. State Minister for Ministry of Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder said that now BSCIC will be able to provide harassment free service in a short time and cost to its entrepreneurs who can take different types of services sitting at home. On the one hand, it will take less time, on the other hand, it will save money.

BSCIC Chairman Mushtaq Hasan said, “The launch of the one-stop service will enable entrepreneurs interested in investing to be served as soon as possible. Micro, small, cottage and medium entrepreneurs will be able to avail all sorts of services including trade license, registration of land, environmental clearance, approval for construction and utility connections from a single place.”
