Two sustain bullet injuries in India

Two of the six Bangladeshi youths, who have been arrested in India’s Bengaluru for rape and assault on a young Bangladeshi girl, sustained bullet injuries in their legs on Friday as they were allegedly attempting to escape from police custody.

Shranappa SD, deputy commissioner of police (Bengaluru East) of India, said that police took the accused to the crime scene for reconstructing the sequence of events relating to the incident around 5:00am (Indian time).

Police had to open fire as the two of the accused allegedly tried to escape from their clutch. The injured were admitted to a hospital, he added.

Police said, they arrested all the accused-- four men and two woman-- over the rape and torture of a Bangladeshi girl, 22, in Bengaluru on May 27.

Footage of the incident went viral on social media recently.

On Thursday night, father of the victim filed a case against the accused with Hatirjheel Police Station in the capital.

Abdur Rashid, officer-in-charge of the police station, said that the victim father filed the case against one TikTok Hridoy and some others.
