Ex-MP Abdul Kader laid to rest

Former Member of Parliament Abdul Kader Shikder was laid to rest at his family graveyard on Friday following his namaz-e-janaza at Nakshi-Madrassa High School field in Narail.

Wrapped in Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) flag, Abdul Kader Shikder’s body was taken to the field at 2:30pm. Thousands of people attended the janaza.

BNP’s Khulna division’s organising secretary and former MP Nazrul Islam Manju, assistant organising secretary Anindya Islam Amit, Khulna City Corporation’s former mayor Moniruzzaman Moni, Narail District Council chairman and Awami League leader Sohrab Hossain Biswas, district BNP president Biswas Jahangir Alam, among others, attended the janaza.

Abdul Kader Shikder died on Thursday while he was on the way to Dhaka for better treatment.

The 68-year old leader was taking treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital as he was suffering from diabetics, high blood pressure and eye problem.
