No ban on transport of fish, meat

Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim has said there are no restrictions on transport of fish, meat, milk and eggs during the weeklong nationwide lockdown imposed by the government to combat the ongoing second wave of the Covid -19 pandemic.

“Fish, meat, milk and eggs are essential food commodities and also perishable. There will not be any restrictions in production, transportation and marketing of it. The ministry will take necessary measures in this regard by sending a letter to the administration and concerned departments and agencies,” he said.

The minister made the comment during a virtual meeting on Tuesday.
