Health secretary hospitalised

Md Abdul Mannan, secretary of the Health Services Division of the health and family welfare ministry, has been hospitalised after contracting coronavirus.

He was admitted to ‘Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital’ in the capital on Friday, ministry sources said.

Earlier, he has been feeling health complications since on Thursday night.

On June 4 last year, Abdul Mannan joined the ministry as a secretary.

Meanwhile, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Additional Director General (Administration) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana has tested positive for Covid-19, the DGHS sources said.

Prof Nasima took her first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in the capital's Kurmitola General Hospital on January 27.

Earlier, Director General of DGHS Prof Dr ABM Khurshid Alam and its Director Dr Mijanur Rahman were also tested positive for Covid-19.
