Bangladesh Bank has directed all banks to follow mandatory mask wearing and other relevant health guidelines within the offices to curb coronavirus infection.
It asked all the banks to halve the number of workforce attending office physically and go for internal rotation of branches if necessary.In a circular issued on Wednesday, all the banks have been directed to follow the instructions for the next two weeks as the Covid cases are rapidly rising in the country.
Earlier, on March 29, the government issued a new 18-point directive considering the current surge of coronavirus infection.
The central bank has made six of 18-point directives mandatory for observance against the pandemic.
It also asked the banks to deliver customer service through internal coordination of the workforces maintaining the hygiene rules.
