The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued guidelines for vehicular movement at key points in the capital on the occasion of Victory Day to be celebrated on 16 December.

All buses, trucks, covered vans, microbuses, cars, CNG-run autorickshaws, and other vehicles are requested to avoid the Gabtoli-Amin Bazar Bridge-Savar Road route from 3:30am to 9:30am as dignitaries, including the president and the chief adviser, will leave for National Memorial at Savar to pay tribute.

Instead, drivers are advised to use the alternative routes provided below.

● For vehicles travelling from Gabtoli to various destinations via Savar, they will follow the Dhaka Airport Road, then continue via Abdullahpur Crossing and Ashulia Road.

● For vehicles leaving Kalyanpur in Dhaka, they will turn right at Technical Crossing and proceed via Mirpur-1 and Diabari Crossing.

● For vehicles travelling from Aricha via Amin Bazar to Nabinagar Bazar, they will turn left and take the Ashulia Road towards Dhaka.

● For vehicles coming from Tangail towards Dhaka, they will take the route via Kaliakoir-Gazipur Chourasta-Tongi.

During this time, commuters are requested to follow the alternative routes as indicated by the police.

The DMP sought full cooperation of city dwellers, vehicle owners, and workers in ensuring smooth traffic flow and maintaining order on this important occasion.
