Squadron Leader M Sadrul Ahmed Khan (rtd) paid a silent tribute to the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as he ran ‘Sheikh Mujib International Marathon 2021’ wearing ‘Mujib Coat’, held on January 10 in the capital.

“Evergreen Bangabandhu is always a symbol of youth, motivation and energy. His signature dress is a tailored sleeveless black coat. This design is very popular across the globe,” said Sadrul, who was the Deputy Sergeant at arms in Bangladesh Parliament and is now a member of Bangladesh Awami League, finance and planning subcommittee.

“However, nowadays people wear Mujib coat in different styles, traditions and celebrations. So I decided to run a marathon wearing Mujib coat,” he added.

Sadrul, who started to take part in the marathon in 2013, attended several marathons at home and abroad including Dhaka, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Lisbon Marathon etc.
