The authorities of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Monday sacked a chainman named Md Nobel Hasan Mithu on a charge of extortion.

He was dismissed as per section 64(2) of DSCC employment rule-2019, said a press release.

Mithu and Duty Inspector of Bangladesh Ansar Shahidul Islam, also the camp in-charge at the DSCC, were caught red handed by locals on Sunday night while they were extorting money from people, posing as the Executive Magistrate.

Police filed an extortion case against them. The DSCC also sent a letter to the Ansar authorities in this regard.
