23 more die, 569 cases detected

Twenty-three more corona patients died and 569 new cases were detected in the country during the last 24 hours till Sunday morning. The death toll rose to 7,906 so far in the country.

The rate of coronavirus infection cases have declined but the death rate has risen to 1.50 per cent across the country.

According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 569 new cases were detected in the country in the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Sunday, raising the total number to 5,27,632.

Some 681 more patients have recovered from the disease         

in the last 24 hours, raising the total number to 4,72,437.

The DGHS data said the coronavirus death rate has stood at 1.50 percent. On the other hand, the recovery rate also has reached 89.54 percent, it added.

The health directorate said 15.26 percent of the samples have been diagnosed with coronavirus till the date while 4.23 percent samples have been diagnosed with the fatal disease in a day.

A total of 13,553 samples, out of 13,446 collected, were tested at 199 labs in the country during the period, the report added.

A total of 34,57,453 samples have been tested so far to detect coronavirus infection across the country.

The first case of Covid-19 was detected on March 8 while the first death was recorded on March 18 in the country.
