No room for drug addict in police force: IGP

Inspector General (IG) of Police Benazir Ahmed has said that if any drug addict is found in police force, hewill be driven out from the force.

“There is no room for drug addicts in police force. Dope testing is being carried out against the suspected addicted police members,” he said.

The IGP came up with the statement while addressing a programme organised by Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) auditorium in the capital on Friday.

A total of 48 police members of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have so far been detected as drug addicts at dope testing of Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital in the capital in the last two months, police sources said.

Over 1000 law enforcers have been dope tested in the police hospital in the last two months.
