4 killed in road crashes in Tangail, Panchagarh

Four people, including a teenage girl, travelling on motorcycles were killed in Nagarpur upazila of Tangail district and Panchagarh sadar upazila on Wednesday.

In Tangail, three youths were killed after a truck rammed their vehicle at Banshpara in Nagarpur upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Shubho Ahmmed Sunny, 18, son of Bareque, hailing from Banalia village in Delduar upazila, his friend Bappy, 22, from Karatia Bypass area and Mamata Hia, 18, daughter of Abdul Manna, from Kagmari area in Tangail’s Sadar upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nagarpur police station Alam Chand  said an Aricha bound bus from Nagpur hit the motorcycle at Daspara around 6:30 am, leaving all three riding on the motorbike dead on the spot.

Sunny and his lover Hia were fleeing from their house to get married along with his friend Bappy, OC Alam Chand added.

On information, police recovered the bodies and seized the truck.

In Panchagarh, a young man was killed in a road accident in sadar upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Masum, 22, son of Soleman Ali of Tentulia upazila.
