‘Arts Against Corona’ begins at Shilpakala

A month-long art exhibition titled ‘Arts Against Corona’ began at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) on Tuesday.  

The unique exhibition on the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the world was inaugurated by Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen at 04:00pm.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid, Cultural Affairs Ministry’s Secretary Md Badrul Arefin and noted artist Jamal Ahmed were present at the programme as special guests with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky in the chair.

BSA Secretary Md Nawshad Hossain delivered the welcome speech.   

Speaking at the programme, Foreign Minister Abdul Momen said, “We’ve earned worldwide appreciation and respect as a nation of heroes which always fought back against every inconceivable circumstance. This exhibition is also a good initiative. All these artworks depict the talent and will power of our artists who never stopped creating their works, even during this challenging time”.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid also praised the artists and Shilpakala’s activities during the pandemic.

After the inauguration ceremony, BSA artistes enthralled the audience with cultural performances.

A total of 150 artworks are being put on display at Gallery 1 and 2 at the National Art Gallery of the academy.

The exhibition will remain open for all from 11:00am to 06:00pm till November 26.
