AL presidium meets today

The presidium members of the ruling Awami League will sit in a meeting on Wednesday.

The meeting will be held at 10.00am at the party President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official residence Ganabhaban in the city, said a press release signed by its office secretary Biplab Barua on Tuesday. The party’s general secretary Obaidul Quader requested all the presidium members to be present in the meeting on time maintaining heath guidelines, the press release added.

On December 21, 2019, Awami League announced its 17-member presidium body inducting Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Matia Chowdhury, Mohammad Nasim, Kazi Zafar Ullah, Sahara Khatun, Mosharraf Hossain, Pijush Kanti Bhattacharya, Nurul Islam Nahid, Abdur Razzaque, Faruk Khan, Ramesh Chandra Sen, Abdul Mannan Khan, Abdul Matin Khasru, Shajahan Khan, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman in it.

Later, two presidium members -- former health minister Nasim and former home minister Sahara Khatun -- died of Covid-19.
