‘Chitrangada’ to be staged at BSA today

Swapnadal, one of the popular theatre troupes of the country, will stage its much acclaimed production ‘Chitrangada’ at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital today.

The story of the drama is based on a dance-drama written Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore with the same name.  Swapnadal chief secretary Zahid Repon is the director of the drama.

Chitrangada has been written by Rabindranath Tagore when he was 31 years old. However, Tagore brought the play to stage as a lyrical dance drama in 1936, at age 75.
