KHULNA: Experts at a health camp underscored the need for maintaining sound health of lactating mothers for ensuring normal physical and mental growth of their babies.
District Administration and District Women Affairs Officer’s office organised the event on Provati Secondary School premises at Khalishpur, Khulna on Thursday afternoon, reports BSS.Deputy Director of Local Government Department Israt Jahan was present at the camp as the chief guest.
Chaired by Councilor (reserved seat) Parven Akter, Deputy Director of District Women Affairs’ Officer Nargis Fatima Zamin, Freedom Fighter Md Alamgir Kabir, among others, addressed the event.
Israt Jahan discussed various programmes being implemented by the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for ensuring healthcare to poor and working lactating mothers living both in urban as well as rural areas.
A total of 374 persons under Khalishpur municipality area were provided with free health care service at the health camp.
