Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairman Muhammed Sadique at a programme said though the number of educated people is increasing every year across the country, the quantity of the people who can truly spread the light of education are not growing.

He made the remark at the monthly meeting of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh at Kakrail in the capital on Friday.

The PSC chief said the growing incidents of social instability, murder and rape are the result of lack of real enlightened community.

“Most of the people are not receiving proper education. These so called educated people are not present themselves as the helm of the nation,” he added.

He also said, “If we want to make a happy and sustainable nation, we must be self educated, enlightened and honest on our own jobs”.
