IU law dept chairman takes charge

KUSHTIA: Professor Dr Nurun Nahar took charge as the chairperson of Law department of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Wednesday.

Professor Dr Mohammad Johurul Islam, former chairman of the department handed over the charge through the programme at the chairman office of Law department of Mir Mosharraf Hossain building on the campus.

Islamic University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr M Harun-ur-Rashid Askari was present at the handing over of charge ceremony as the chief guest around 11am.

Armin Khatun Mallik, assistant Professor of the department, conducted the programme while Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr M Shahinoor Rahman and Treasurer Professor Dr M Selim Toha were present as special guests.

Among others, Law Faculty Dean Professor Dr Reba Mondol, Professor Dr Afroza Begum, Professor Dr Shahjahan Mondol, Professor Dr Halima Khatun, Assistant Professor Sazzadur Rahman Titu, Assistant Proctor Dr M Nasir Uddin were also present on the occasion. Nurun Nahar was appointed to the post after the tenure of previous chairman Professor M Jahurul Islam came to an end.
