UKBCCI keen to expand trade, investment 
in Bangladesh

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi exchanges views with visiting trade delegation of UK Bangladesh Catalysts of Commerce and Industry at his office in the capital on Sunday.

Leaders UK-Bangladesh Catalysts of Commerce and Industry (UKBCCI), a leading umbrella of British-Bangladeshi entrepreneurs, expressed their willingness to expand their business operation in Bangladesh.

They expressed their interest at a meeting with Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi and the directorial body of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) on Sunday at the ministry office where they discussed on investment potential in different sectors in country.

UKBCCI Chair Iqbal Ahmed said they are willing to explore opportunities in ICT, garments and other manufacturing, infrastructure, engineering, construction, logistics, banking, tourism, financial services and many other consumer sectors with the view to enhancing co-operation between people of the two countries which will bring prosperity to all.  

UKBCCI President Bajloor Rashid explained in details on the positive responses which they are have shared in the meeting with leaders from public and private sectors, secretaries and business bodies like BIDA, FBCCI and the others.

The Commerce Minister expressed deep satisfaction at the venture of the UKBCCI and reaffirmed all out help and cooperation from the government to the prospective trade body.

Among others, Vice Chairman and CEO of the EPB Bijoy Bhattacharjee also attended the meeting. Secretary of Commerce Mafizul Islam, moderated the discussion.

The UKBCCI team will be in Dhaka till 18 June and will visit Chattogram on 19 June and Sylhet on 20 June.

Celebrating its 5th year the UKBCCI has successfully contributed to the promotion of bi-lateral trade between UK and Bangladesh.
