A twelve-day international workshop titled ‘Research School on Dynamical Systems and its Applications to Biology’ opened at Dhaka University (DU) on Monday.
Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the event. Department of Mathematics of DU, International Center for Pure and Applied Mathematics (CIMPA) and AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation jointly organised it with the theme of “Development of Research in Mathematics in Developing Countries”.Chairman of Mathematics Department Prof Dr Amal Krishna Halder presided over the inaugural function while Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury addressed it as the chief guest.
Ambassador of France in Bangladesh Marie Annick Bourdin, CIMPA representatives Prof Dr Renaud Leplaideur, Prof Dr Lidia Fernandez Rodriguez and Trustee of AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation M Nurul Alam addressed the program as special guests.
It may be mentioned that academicians and researchers from Bangladesh, France, Germany, Brazil, Austria, Cambodia, Ghana, Egypt, China, Nepal, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan and India are participating in the event.
