World Autism Awareness Day observed

World Autism Awareness Day was observed across the country as elsewhere around the globe on Tuesday.

To observe the day, the Ministry of Social Welfare, National Disability Development Foundation, National Disability Forum and different socio-cultural bodies and non-government organisations arranged various programmes.

The theme of the Day this year was “Assistive Technologies, Active Participation”.

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages on the eve of the day where they urged all to come forward along with the government for the welfare of the disabled.

To mark the day, the Ministry of Social Affairs arranged a discussion at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the capital on Tuesday. Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, MP chaired the programme.
