Today is the 49th Independence Day of Bangladesh. To mark the day in a befitting manner, different socio-cultural organisations have arranged elaborate programmes across the country.
Like previous years, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy has chalked out different programmes to celebrate the day.BSA will launch its celebrations through placing wreath at the Jatiya Smriti Soudho at Savar this morning at 08:00am.
Academy will also arrange a discussion and cultural programme at the National Theatre Hall of the academy at 06:30pm on the day.
The Bangla Academy will also hold elaborate programmes to pay tributes to the Liberation War martyrs.
The Bangla Academy will begin the day through placing wreath at the Jatiya Smriti Soudho at Savar at 08:00am this morning.
Bangla academy will also hold a cultural programme at the Rabindra Chattar of the academy at 05:00pm today.
Besides, local satellite television channels and radio stations will air an array of programmes to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War in 1971.Channel i has arranged ‘IFIC Bank Rongtulite Muktijudha’ featuring celebrated artists and painters of the country on its premises in the city today.
Alongside, painting Rezwana Choudhury Bannya and Shurer Dhara will perform patriotic songs at the main manch of channel i which will be aired on channel i from 11:05 to03:00pm today.
Channel i will also air a Liberation War based film Guerrilla at 03:05pm to mark the day.
NTV is scheduled to telecast special drama titled ‘Aj Pujarir Din’ at 12:20 pm today. Written by Masum Reza and directed by Mahmud Didar, the play stars Arpona Ghash, Ony, Rimi Karim, ATM Rasel, Monir Hossain, Rabin and others.
The channel will also air ‘Mukti Joddha O Naari’, a special programme at 6:45 pm. Singer Shahin Samad, recitation artiste Tamanna Daisy, Fredoom Fighter Bkul Mostofa will attend on the programme.
ATN Bangla will air ‘Rodro Korotite’, a special play written by Reza Jimi and directed by Tuhin Hossain at 8.40pm.
A documentary titled ‘Mukti Juddher Itihash’ directed by Dr Mahfuzur Rahman, will be aired at 11:00pm on the channel.
Bangla Vision will air special drama ‘Juddho Diner Prem’ at 09:05 pm. Written by Mashum Shariar and directed by Saidur Rahman Rasel, the play stars Irfan Sazzad, Sabnam Faria, Mili Bashar, Mashum Bashar, Nikul Kumar and others.
Boishakhi TV also arranged various programmes to mark the Independence Day. The channel will air the film ‘Hangor Nodi Grenade’ at 02:45pm today.
Deepto TV will air a documentary film titled ‘Merciless Mayhem: The Bangladesh Genocide through Pakistani Eyes’ at 04:30pm.
The 61-minute film tells story of the blood-soaked birth of Bangladesh as seen by a few Pakistani journalists and civil servants who stood beside their Bangladeshi brothers and sisters even when their military force carried out mass murder.
Directed by Fuad Chowdhury, the film features interviews of a group of expatriate Pakistanis, who shared their experiences of the Bangladesh genocide committed by Pakistani occupation forces in 1971.
Popular theatre troupe Swapnadal will stage two shows of its much acclaimed production Tringsha Shatabdee at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala academy at 05:00pm and 07:15pm respectively today.
Written by Indian playwright Badal Sarkar, Zahid Repon has adapted and directed the play.
A narrator opens the play raising questions about the war and seeking the trial of the war-criminals.
Zahid Repon, Jueyana Shabnam, Fazla Rabbi, Samad Bhuiyan, Shishir Shikder, Zebunnesa, Shakhawat Shamol, Mehedi Rana, Shonali Rahman and Arko Apu play roles in the drama.
