Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Wednesday alleged that BNP and its communal collaborators are plotting to carry out violence targeting the upcoming national election.
“They [BNP and others] are plotting to carry out violence like 2014,” he said.Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, said this while addressing a programme of road transport workers at Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh in the capital.
Calling upon the transport workers to resist the communal force, Quader said, “We all have to remain alert so that no one can carry out violence again in the name of movement.”
Earlier at a separate programme of premiere of a cinema titled ‘Gangchil’, a novel written by Quader, at Dhaka Club, Quader said BNP’s threat to wage a movement is ridiculous.
“BNP is trying to wage a movement in the last 10 years but people do not respond to it. BNP’s threat to wage movement over various issues is ridiculous. People have no connection with BNP’s movement,” he said.
Quader alleged that BNP always mistrusts law. “The party [BNP] does not abide by the law and constitution. It is also familiar as a party of complaints.”
He said BNP dishonoured the country, its people and the constitution.About the election-time government, Quader said the poll-time government will be formed by October.
“Size of the cabinet will be small but I cannot say the exact size of it. The cabinet will carry out regular works and not make any policymaking decision,” he said.
