10 DU faculty members in global list of top 2% scientists
US-based Stanford Univ, Dutch company Elsevier publish the list

Ten teachers of the University of Dhaka (DU) have found their place in the world’s top 2% list of scientists in a study conducted by the US-based Stanford University and Dutch academic publishing organisation Elsevier.
The university’s Vice Chancellor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan congratulated the teachers for achieving the recognition and also lauded DU for delivering on its promise of fostering proper education and search for knowledge, according to a statement issued by the university on Sunday.
The selected teachers include: Mathematics Prof Dr Nepal Chandra Roy, Oceanography Professor Dr Md Kausar Ahammad, Geology Professor Dr Kazi Matin Uddin Ahmed, Applied Mathematics Professor Dr Muhammad Ferdous, Applied Chemistry Professor Dr Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Applied Chemistry Associate Professor Dr Taslim-ur-Rashid, and Population Science Professor Dr Mohammad Billal Hossain.
Associate Professor Dr Sheikh Md Mahmudul Islam, from Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department; Professor Dr M Rezaul Karim, from the Institute of Social Welfare and Research; and Professor Dr Md Rakibul Haque, from the Management Information System Department, round off the list of ten selected DU teachers.
