One of the causes of death in dengue fever is dengue hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome. In this case, plasma is released from the blood vessels.

“In this, the amount of fluid in the body decreases, various important organs are affected and the patient dies,” writes Prof Dr Mohammad Azizur Rahman at Healthcare Diagnostic Center in Dhaka.

The medicine & respiratory medicine specialist further mentioned that the excessive cytokines are released from various cells due to excessive dengue virus load in the body.

The proinflammatory cytokines are particularly responsible for dengue hemorrhagic fever and shock syndrome. “Vitamin D regulates our immune system and plays a role in the prevention of various diseases and quick recovery. Vitamin D plays an important role in reducing the complications of dengue fever,” added the physician.

Vitamin D reduces the number of dengue-infected cells in the human body, which in turn reduces the release of various pro-inflammatory cytokines. As a result, the severity of dengue is reduced, which prevents the rapid growth of the virus in the body and helps reduce the severity of dengue. It is noted that about 75-90 percent of people in the country are suffering from vitamin D deficiency in one way or another.

A study on dengue-infected patients found that those who received 4 thousand units of vitamin D daily for 10 days or 2000 thousand units of vitamin D in a single dose had a reduced risk of severe dengue.

“As vitamin D helps reduce the severity of dengue fever, our aim is to ensure adequate supply of vitamin D to all dengue sufferers by any means. 80 percent of the body's total vitamin D needs come from sunlight,” added Dr.Aziz.

The physician further mentioned that about 20 percent can be taken from food ingredients, such as salmon, mackerel, salmon, milk and eggs.
“Basically, to get vitamin D, the skin must be exposed to direct sunlight. 20-30 minutes of sunlight daily. Every day between 10 am and 2 pm, the sunshine of that time is a very good source of vitamin D. To get vitamin D, skin must be exposed to direct sunlight,” he added.

In that case, the clothing or sunscreen prevents the production of Vitamin D directly on the skin.  The expert physician suggested for going out with sunscreen on your face taking care to hands, feet or any other part of body is exposed.
