The police chief has ordered the transfer of a lady officer who helped retired IGP Benazir Ahmed bypass airport immigration checks for leaving the country without facing any suspicions, days after allegations arose that Benazir was involved in widespread corruption.
Additional Superintendent Shaheda Sultana has been transferred to the office of Deputy Inspector General of police at Rajshahi range from her post of senior assistant director for operations at RAB, according to a notification signed by current IGP Md Mainul Islam on Thursday.
Thirteen other police officers were also transferred through the notification.
Shaheda, a close confidante of the Benazir family, helped the former police officer evade suspicions as well as potential detention by immigration officials when he flew out of the country on 4 May.
