‘Mad Max’ is coming to Bangladesh after Cannes

George Miller’s desired sci-fi thriller “Mad Max” is returning to the screens after a long break. The fifth installment of the “Mad Max” franchise titled “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” will be released internationally on 24 May by Warner Brothers. The audience in the country can rejoice with the news that the film will also be released on the same day at Star Cineplex in Bangladesh.
“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” is a prequel to “Mad Max: Fury Road” which was released nine years ago. The film revolves around a young woman, Furiosa, who is thrown from the Green Place of Many Mothers into a terrifying hellish world. The young girl is abducted by a group of marauders after an environmental disaster hits Earth. But she doesn’t give up them. She fights with infinite courage against the dangerous enemies. “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” is based on the story of her desperate struggle to return home.
The film was recently screened at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival. The audience gave a standing ovation for six minutes straight at the world premiere of the action-packed film. Directed by Australian George Miller, Anya Taylor-Joy plays young Furiosa. Chris Hemsworth will be seen in a villainous role in the film.
It may be mentioned that, the first film of “Mad Max” series was released in 1979. Then came “Mad Max-2” in 1981, “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome” in 1985 and finally “Mad Max: Fury Road” in 2015. The first three films starred Mel Gibson in the title role. Tom Hardy was joined in “Fury Road”, along with Charlize Theron.
