A mild to moderate heatwave is sweeping parts of the country and it may spread.

“Mild to moderate heatwave is sweeping over Rajshahi division and the districts of Bagerhat, Kushtia, and Chuadanga and it may spread. Due to increase of moisture incursion, the discomfort may persist,” the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a bulletin.

Besides, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with hail at isolated places.

The weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Day temperature may rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the Met office forecast.

A trough of westerly low lies over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and the adjoining area, while a seasonal low lies over the south Bay.
