Kumar Sanu opens school for underprivileged

Prominent singer Kumar Sanu has opened ‘Kumar Sanu Vidya Niketan’, a primary school, in Indian capital Mumbai for the unprivileged children.

Sanu may be famous for his voice and numerous hits that he has delivered, but the 57-year-old singer wants to be known and remembered for his philanthropic work.

"I think only education can bring about a change in the mindset of people and uplift the underprivileged. Currently, we have opened a primary school in Karol Bagh and we are planning to apply for permission till VIII," the legend said about the school.

Talking about the facilities in the school, he says, "We will provide uniforms and books free of cost. Apart from this we will also pay an amount to the parents of the students every month to motivate them to send their kids to school, instead of sending them to work."
