Myanmar mortar shells hit Rohingya camp on zero line, one killed, six injured

A Rohingya youth was killed and six others were injured as four mortar shells fired by the Myanmar Army hit the Tumbru border in Naikhongchhari of Bandarban on Friday night.

The deceased was from the Rohingya camp on the zero line of the border with Myanmar. The details of the victims could not be known immediately.

Tumbru Rohingya Camp Committee Chairman Dil Mohammad confirmed the matter to media.

He said that the incident took place around 8:00pm on Friday. Seven people including a Rohingya child were injured. When they were rescued and taken to a local hospital, a Rohingya youth named Mohammad Iqbal died, he added.
