Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is travelling to Singapore to have a body check-up, a top BCB official said on Friday.

Shakib is expected to join the national team in the West Indies as he will fly to the United States of America after completing his check-up.

He seemed to be in great discomfort during the final day of the series-concluding second Test against Sri Lanka on Friday as he hurt his finger trying to stop a run on his own delivery.

However, Shakib was also initially ruled out of the opening Test against Sri Lanka due to COVID-19. He was picked for the series opener only after he tested negative for corona on May 12.

Apart from Shakib, a few other members of the national team are also expected to have some kind of vacation ahead of their tour of West Indies.

ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal is expected to go to Dubai while Nurul Hasan will visit England.

Bangladesh will play two Tests along with three ODIs and three T20Is in the West Indies. The tourists will start their campaign with a Test, scheduled to begin on June 16.
