University of Kalyani in West Bengal hosted an international lecture on cultural diversification to strengthen people-to-people bonding beyond the borders.
Bangladeshi scholar Dr Mostafizur Rahman emphasised more knowledge sharing on local norms and traditions during the session at the university at Nadia on Monday, said a news release.
Dr Mostafizur, a focklore researcher, said the culture is the baseline for an inclusive society that manifests the identity of human being as well.
Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Director Prof Nanda Kumar spoke on the behalf of the university administration.
Focklore department head Prof Dr Sujay Kumar Mandal said the centre for cultural studies will bring new dimension in inter-school knowledge sharing in different aspects.
Prof Sumit Mukharjee of political science department coordinated the lecture programme while Assistant Prof Debolina Debnath of folklore department conducted the session.
