Two people gave confessional statement before a Dhaka court on Friday in a case filed over the death of film actress Raima Islam Shimu.
Shimu’s husband Shakhawat Ali Nobel and his childhood friend SM Farhad gave the statement at Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court.
After recording his statement, the court ordered to send them jail, he said.
On Monday morning (January 17), spotted by some locals, the 35-year old actress’s body was found in a sack near a bridge in the Keraniganj upazila. She was identified through her finger print by Police Bureau of Investigation later in the day.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members detained Nobel and his friend Farhad from the hospital on Tuesday (January 18).
A Dhaka court placed them on a 3-day remand each in the case.
Shimu used to live at city’s Kalabagan area with her husband and two children. On Sunday morning she went out from the house and remained missing since.
Shimu worked with many renowned film directors after making her debut in 1998.
